Project overview
We’re creating a new Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) to turn your ideas into actions!
This plan will guide how Council improves access, inclusion and participation so that people with disability, families, carers and the wider community can take part in all aspects of life.
This plan is about practical changes you can feel. This means creating:
- more accessible and liveable places and spaces
- more inclusive employment and volunteering opportunities
- easier, more respectful ways to take part in community services and events
- positive attitudes and behaviours that lift everyone
We want the DIAP to reflect YOUR lived experience – what works, what doesn’t, and what would really help across Fairfield’s diverse communities.
Why YOUR voice matters to us
We’re reviewing the previous DIAP and shaping the next one with you. Your lived experiences, ideas and priorities will be translated into clear, practical actions in the new plan.
To make it easy to participate, we’re offering accessible and inclusive ways to have your say including:
- online and printed surveys
- accessible workshops
- small group conversations
- one-on-one interviews
Every contribution helps us build a Fairfield that is more accessible for you.
To be involved, please email us at scd@fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au
Community survey
We’d love to hear your ideas and experiences.
Please take a few minutes to complete the DIAP 2026 Community Survey to share what matters most to you and help shape the future of our community.
We have provided a word list to explain words we've used in our survey and have used inclusive and easier to read language so everyone can participate.
This survey will close at 24:00 on Thursday 19 April 2026.
